Nuevo reto at STM

El nuevo reto de Scrapping the music ya está en linea. Esta semana, jugamos con la famosísima canción de Kool and the gang "Celebration"...Muy alegre! Y seguro todos tenemos algo que celebrar. Un aniversario, un día de sol, una buena comida entre amigos, una decisión importante, o simplemente celebrar estar vivo y poder actuar. Algo importante que no está mal recordar de vez en cuando.
Aquí tenéis mi página inspirada de esta canción (mis fans (ah!ah!) ya saben de que va). Hice una guirnalda con estrellas que tenía desde hace mucho tiempo. Las agujeré y pasé un trocito de lana entre dos o tres, y luego por detrás del papel, y por encima, y vuelta con dos o tres estrellas, etc. hasta el final. Lo hice de esta manera para que la guirnalda se aguantará mejor con la forma que yo le quería dar.
La foto está impresa tipo polaroid. Añadi algunas líneas directamente en Photoshop. Una técnica que uso mucho últimamente.

Just to tell you about the new challenge at Scrapping the music. Let's celebrate together a happy anniversary, a beautiful sunny day, a delicious dinner with friends, a BIG decision or simply the fact that we are alive with the power of acting (important to remember from time to time).
This week song is Celebration by Kool and the gang, so I did a layout with one picture of last week (my fans (ah! ah!) will understand immediatly).
I made a garland with old stars I had. I punched a hole in them and then passed a string of wool through 2 or 3 of them. Then, passed the string on the back of the paper, and on the front, and again through 2 or 3 stars, until the end. I did this that way to allow the garland stands better the way I wanted to, and not simply "hung".
The photo is printed as if it was a polaroid. I added some words directly with Photoshop. I like this technique very much lately!

Ahora podéis encontrar en mi tienda Etsy unos juegos de {tarjeta + sobre} bonitos, sencillos y "ecológicos" (están hechos a partir de papel kraft natural proveniente de bosques gestionados durablemente -label FSC) para utilizar en cualquiera ocasión!

El estampado del símbolo de la paz está hecho con un sello de mi propio diseño que grabé a mano. En las tarjetas se ve como marca de agua mientras en los sobres está en relieve y brillante. A mí me encantan estas tarjetitas! Espero que os guste!

I have updated my Etsy shop with sets of handmade {cards and envelopes}. They are simple, delicate and eco-friendly since they are made from natural kraft paper (FSC-certidied wood).

The peace symbol is from an hand carved stamp and is embossed with UTEE on the envelope. Spread love to your friends and family with these beautiful cards! Hope you will love them as much as I do!

Puertas abiertas en el Univers

Hoy de las 13:00 a las 15:00, estaré en el campus Nord de la UPC (cerca del Polideportivo) para presentar el taller de scrapbooking a las personas potencialmente interesadas por este curso que empezará en octubre. Si no tenéis claro lo que es el scrap o queréis saber qué haremos en concreto durante el curso, venid esta tarde. Traeré un montón de ejemplos y supongo que algunas herramientas para que os hagáis una idea!

6 años juntos y The Art is Found- Nuevo reto!

Hola!!!!
Ayer (u hoy, depende de como veamos las cosas) Damien y yo celebramos nuestros 6 años juntos. Sí! Pasa rapidísimo!
Para celebrarlo, y aprovechando la oportunidad de ser Guest Designer para el blog The Art is found (todo un honor! Cuando me lo pidieron no me lo podía creer. Gracias Rhi!) me inventé un mini album un poco particular.
Esta semana, el reto de TAIF era las cajas de cartón. Con lo cual, utilicé una cajita para guardar el mini (le añadi una cremallera!) , y corté otra caja en pedacitos para fabricar mi "mosaico". Los cuadrados de cartón se mantienen entre sí con bandas de fieltro que van grapadas. Utilicé también antiguos marcos de diapositiva que pinté para utilizar de embellecedores. Os muestro la foto del mosaico una vez colgado a un palo de bambú. Para ver el proyecto entero, podeís ir a mi galería en SisTV.
Fue un proyecto muy divertido de realizar. Espero que os guste!

Yesterday (or today, depending on the point of view) Damien and I celebrated our 6th anniversary together...I know, time flies!
In our honor I wanted to create something very special. It also happens that the same day at The Art is Found, I had to guest designed for the prompt "cardboard boxes". I am so lucky to have had this opportunity! I couldn't believe it when they asked me! (it would never had happened without the amazing Rhi...Thank you!). In the end, I just created a very special mini. Out of cardboard with its small cardboard box to be kept! I show you the final mosaic hanging from a bamboo stick. You can see the whole project in my SisTV gallery.
One of the funniest part was sewing the zipper onto the cardoard box. I so loved the process and the result is so fun! Love it.
It was a great (and stressful!) adventure for me and I hope you will enjoy this mini!
Don't forget to check the DT creations. The TAIF girls are just a bunch of talented and crazy girls!

Está abierta mi tienda virtual!

Sí!!!
Hoy inauguro mi tienda virtual en Etsy. Estuve pensando en ello varios meses y por fin lo conseguí!
De momento se pueden encontrar Moleskines (el legendario cuaderno de notas) de varios diseños. Pero estoy pensando en otros tipos de productos, como tarjetas o etiquetas, e incluso cuadros. No sé con antelación lo que se me ocurrirá...
Si no conocéis Etsy, la verdad que es genial. Es un lugar especializado para comprar y vender todo tipo de cosas hechas a mano, y a precios muy competitivos. Podéis encontrar desde bolsos, complementos de ropa, joyería, hasta cuadros, vajilla vintage, libros, etc. Eso sí está todo en inglés...
No dudéis en buscar allí regalos para cualquier ocasión!

En fin, estoy un poco nerviosa porque todo el proceso me llevó muchísimo tiempo y no estoy segura de que valga la pena. Pero bueno, lo quería probar.
Me encantaría conocer vuestra opinión al respecto (incluido vuestras impresiones generales sobre la tienda). Ya que estoy empezando, me ayudaría mucho!
En Etsy me llamo "Acreativesoul". Es un nombre que había elegido hace tiempo cuando empecé a comprar, y como no se pueden cambiar lo conservé. Aunque no sea lo ideal, no quise abrir otra cuenta para no complicarme.

I am proud to announce that today is the first day of my Etsy shop! It's a project I had for months and it took me so much time to carry out. I'm a bit nervous because I really don't know if I am just losing my time with that all. Anyway, I am happy because I really enjoyed the process! For the moment, you can find different kinds of personalised Moleskines (the legendary notebook), but I have in mind other kind of projects such as cards or tags, or even paintings...I don't know yet.
My name in Etsy is "Acreativesoul". I don't like it too much now . This was the name I chose when I first opened an account. As you cannot change your username I just decided to keep it, not to duplicate everything. I found it enough complicated!
I would be happy to read your impressions on my shop (any kind of comments will be appreciated). It could be very useful for a beginner like me!

Otoño

Pues sí, el otoño se está acercando. Y junto con la primavera, es mi estación preferida. Es una lástima que en Barcelona no se puedan percibir tanto los cambios de estación. Para sentir el otoño más vale irse al campo o a la montaña a recoger setas o castañas, o simplemente a contemplar los colores mágicos de los bosques. Me encantaría irme a Canadá en otoño, cuando dicen que todos los árboles de allí se ponen rojo y naranja vivo.
En fin, tenía ganas de cambiar el aspecto del blog para celebrar la llegada del otoño. Todo ese rosa de antes me cansaba. No sé que os parecerá la nueva versión del blog pero a mí me gusta, me relaja. (De hecho el nuevo banner está hecho a partir de una foto que hizo Damien en el Montseny.)
Tengo muchas expectativas para este nuevo periodo y espero que se cumplan.

A little post to celebrate the new season coming. I was a bit tired of the old look of the blog and wanted to change. I don't know if you will like it, but I think the new version is very relaxing. In the spirit of autumn. Here in Barcelona, autumn is not as great as it is in the coutryside or mountains because apart from the lower temperatures it is hard to feel a real change. I wish I could go to Canada in autumn. It is said that the trees take magical colors there. Here it is not as beautiful but there are beautiful landscapes too. For instance, the new banner is from a picture of Damien taken in the Montseny (at 1 hour driving from Barcelona).
I really have a lot of hopes for this new period of the year. I wish they will turn into reality.

Days of reflexion and doubts. Very often I think that if I had faith it would be easier to go on and to think that what I am doing has a meaning. But I have no faith. And I don't understand the meaning of that all.

I have a special thought for Aleida's family. They lost her in a car accident. I am very sad and just don't understand. Even if I did not know her personally, I will remember her beautiful soul, her investment for the scrapping community and all the love she always spread.

Viva el reciclaje!

Una pequeña entrada para enseñaros cómo fabricar un protector de agenda/ cuaderno/ diario original y único a partir de imágenes recicladas. Aquí es a partir de un calendario 2007, pero podría ser a partir de revistas o fotos.
Pensé que explicándolo con dibujitos se entendería mejor (picar en la imagen para verla en grande). A ver si es cierto!?. Si no habéis entendido nada (y os interesa...), decídmelo, lo comentaré más detalladamente en otra entrada

Espero que os guste la idea y que os anime a buscar otras ideas originales utilizando la reutilización de material.

...es lo que me produce esta canción cuando la oigo por la radio. No sé por qué. La música y la voz de Amy MacDonald me mueven por dentro. Me siento viva.

I heard this song on the radio for the first time this summer. I can't describe what I feel when I hear it, but it is powerful. This music, this voice. Beautiful.

Dos páginas sencillas

Pasamos un fin de semana estupendo. Descansamos mucho. Tranquilo. Como ya no había pasado en meses.

Os enseños dos páginas de scrap que hice la semana pasada.
La primera está hecha a partir de una vieja toalla. Me pareció interesante el estampado para una página "vintage". La dediqué a mi abuelita...Me la pasé genial cosiendo (con cordón de zapato y lana), y me gusta el resultado. Es diferente. Lo más importante es que me encantó el proceso! Últimamente estoy mucho en el "reciclaje" y la reutilización. Me encanta trabajar con todo lo que he ido acumulando y recuperando en casa. Y me quiero esforzar para utilizar más materiales usados y naturales. Es como darles una segunda vida. Y para qué comprar nuevo (=consumo de energía y contaminación) si se pueden hacer maravillas con el reciclaje?

La otra página la preparé para mis clases de scrap (de hecho, la hubiera podido esconder...sois privilegiados!). Para trabajar la alteración de fotos con pintura. Muy divertido. Luego, se me ocurrió integrar esta foto sobre un fondo un poco "psicodélico". Muy sencillo, pero muy colorido con motivos geométricos eficientes.

En fin, ya veís a qué me paso los días. La vida es dura!

Estoy preparando muchas otras cosas, que os iré enseñando poco a poco.

We had an excellent weekend. And a quite productive week.

I show you two layouts I recently made. The first one is made out of an old towel. I thought the pattern was perfect for a vintage page. So I dedicated this LO to my grandmother. I had a lot of fun with this one. (I used a crop-a-dile to secure the eyelet and to make holes to pass the black shoelace.) I like the result and , most importantly, had loved the process. I am so into the recycling and reusing lately. It is important for me to be able to work with old stuff whenever it's possible instead of buying new (=energy consumption, pollution, etc.). I also would like to integrate more natural materials in my creations...

The second layout was just for fun, as an example of how you can play with your photos with paint. It's for the classes I am preparing. I quite like the colorful background with simple geometrical patterns. Efficient. Psychedelic.

I also have different other projects in preparation. I'll show you soon.

Estoy de vuelta! Buenos días a todos!!!
Espero que habéis disfrutado de las vacaciones y habéis recargado las pilas.
Después de casi 1 mes de ausencia y una vuelta por Francia, la verdad que no tengo tantas cosas que contar...Vacaciones atípicas para nosotros pero muy banales. No hicimos absolutamente nada!
Viajamos, sí, y muchos kilómetros, vimos lugares desconocidos, acampamos (que sensación de libertad el camping. Me encanta!), nos bañamos (el Atlántico, que gozada!), fuimos a Paris, estuvimos con la familia…pero concretamente nada especial.
Mucha mucha comida….poco, muy poco ejercicio
Muchas conversaciones y pocas actividades (casi nada de dibujo ni de fotos para Damien)
Mucho tiempo libre pero poco descanso

Eso si que hicimos una pausa con el calor agobiante de BCN. Siempre fresquitos y la mayoría del tiempo con sol. Ideal!

Ver a la familia siempre es bueno. Es la primera vez que los visitamos en verano. Nos hizo ilusión pero a mí siempre me trae dudas y pensamientos negativos que me afectan bastante…en fin. Hay que aprender a llevarlo.

Me desconecte totalmente del universo cibernético y desaparecí. Me está costando la vuelta. Tengo muchas ideas y planes para los meses que vienen, pero tengo miedo. Sí, creo que es miedo. Y por eso estoy tardando tanto en ponerme las pilas y resolver todos los asuntos pendientes.
Septiembre es un mes de “renacimiento”, donde todo empieza de nuevo. La rutina del trabajo. Este año es un punto de partida importante para mi nueva vida. Me tengo que poner las pilas ya!

Y vosotros, tenéis planes especiales para este mes? Las vacaciones fueron propicias a las reflexiones personales? Habéis sacado conclusiones y tomado decisiones importantes? Me encantaría leeros…

Y por fin, el challenge de Scrapping the music de esta semana muy apropiado para un mes de septiembre. La canción de Bon Jovi “It’s my life" me inspiró esta página.
"No quiero ser una simple cara en la muchedumbre. Van a oir mi voz!" . Nunca mejor dicho...No se ven bien las palabras en la foto. En persona se ve mejor. Imprimí la letra de la canción directamente sobre el papel recubierto de cinta de pintor. Luego imprimí dos veces, en dos orientaciones distintas 4 fotos mías tipo carné (por accidente), y al final rinde perfecto el efecto de "muchedumbre"...(feliz accidente!). Id a inspiraros de las creaciones de las otras chicas de la DT para participar en este challenge!

Uff…ahora si, empiezo a entrar en el ritmo. Se me está subiendo el ánimo! Eso de los blogs es genial. Escribir y descargar las tensiones. Conectar con gente ajena a nuestro mundo cotidiano. Dar y recibir. Nunca pensé que me iba a gustar tanto. Disfruto y me siento afortunada. Gracias por vuestro soporte!

I am back! Good morning to all! How are you? Hope that you have enjoyed your summer and charged the batteries!
After almost 1 month of absence and a trip in France, the truth is I don’t have so many things to tell… Atypical vacation for us but nothing special. We did not do "anything"! We travelled, and we drove many kilometres, we discovered and visited unknown places, we camped (love the sensation of freedom you feel doing camping!), we swam (I so enjoyed the Atlantic ocean, its fantastic beaches with almost nobody…), we went to Paris, we visited our family…
A lot of food and very little physical exercise
A lot of conversations and very few activities (almost no drawing for me, no photos for Damien)
Plenty of free time but little rest
At least, it was good to be away from the exhausting heat of BCN. It was sunny and chilly most of the time. Ideal!
Visiting family is always good. It is the first time we go in summer. We were feeling happy but in my case it always brings doubts and negative thoughts that alter my mood… I just have to learn how to take it.

I have been totally disconnected from the cybernetic world and I disappeared. It’s hard to get back now! I have plenty of ideas and plans for the next months but I’m feeling scared. I believe it is fear. That’s the reason why I am spending so much time updating. September is always an exciting month, a month for a new start, where daily routine starts again. This year it will be a starting point for a new life. I must believe in myself and work!

Last but not least, the STM challenge of the week: “It's my life”. Totally appropriate for September. "I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd. You gonne hear my voice". Never better said! Yes!!! The impression of the pictures was made by accident. I printed it twice in two different orientations. I decided to keep it because it looked perfect for "a face in the crowd". I also printed directly on masking tape. Not easily since the ink does not absorb well but still... Hope you will play along with us. Go and check the work of the other members of the DT for inspiration!

Wow…now I begin to feel the positive energy filling my soul! Blogging is so amazing! You write and you feel better. You connect with other people. You give and you receive. I never thought I will enjoy that much! I’m feeling very lucky to live this experience. Thank you to you, for your support and for being here! Huge hug to all!
