Nuevo en Etsy-Retratos!

Un post rápido y conciso para deciros que actualicé mi tienda Etsy con retratos personalizados! No son retratos tradicionales-copio-una-foto sino más bien expresivos a través del color, el collage y la textura.
Os enseño un autorretrato (otro!) para que veáis el tipo de pintura que es.
Ahora tengo que aplicar esta técnica a paisajes y bodegones para ver si puede ser interesante.

Por otra parte, se ve que el taller del sábado en Cromatismes está lleno! Qué sorpresa y que nervios!!!! Os contaré como ha ido.

Just a quick post to tell you I have updated my Etsy shop with custom commissioned portraits. Not traditional ones-reproduction of a photo- but more expressive by means of colours, texture and collage. I show you a self-portrait (again!) as an example of this painting style.

I would like to test this technique on still lives and landscapes to see if it works.

On another news, the worshop I'll be giving this Saturday is full! So surprised...and now a bit nervous. I'll tell you how it went.

Buenos Días a todos!

¿Qué tal fue el fin de semana?

El mío, excelente. Estuve en París para asistir a una obra de teatro amateur en la cual mi hermana tenía un papel importante. Me gustó mucho el texto y la música. La historia se ambienta en Berlín, en la época del muro y va sobre todas las dudas y contradicciones humanas cuando uno no tiene libertad y sueña con ella. Fue muy interesante.

Como lo veis, he dotado el blog de un nuevo look, para el invierno. Nevó allí el domingo y hacía un viento polar terrible...eso me inspiró. Además estamos a un mes de Navidad, necesitaba un cambio. Me diréis si os gusta.

En París fui a la exposición "Picasso y los maestros" en el Grand Palais. Bastante espectacular. Se ve que tardaron 3 años en prepararla porque reune muchas obras del artista en confrontación con otras de Goya, Vélazquez, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Zubarrán, El Greco, etc. de las cuales se inspiró. En fin, impresionante! Pero la esperaba más larga.
Os enseño algunas de las obras que están presentadas y que me gustaron mucho.

En otra noticia, Damien (mi novio) abrió su tienda Etsy! Podéis comprar fotos suyas impresas máximo en 25 ejemplares! Y ya vendió una!

Finalmente, os enseño un autorretrato con hojas cosidas. Es una técnica que quería probar desde hace mucho tiempo. Es óleo y acrílico sobre tela de algodón. Estoy probando variaciones de esta técnica que me gusta mucho.

Hi everyone!


How was your weekend?

Mine was excellent. I was in Paris to see my sister in an amateur play. The text and music were powerful. I enjoyed it very much. The context was in Berlin at the time of the wall and was about the doubts and contradictions of humans deprived of freedom. It was very interesting.


You can see that the snow and winter cold I experimented there inspired me to change the banner and blog colors for the season coming. Christmas is in one month already!


In Paris I went to the exhibition "Picasso and the masters" at the Grand Palais. Spectacular. It took 3 years to prepare it because they bring together many pieces of the artist and others from Goya, Velazquez, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Zubarrán, El Greco, from all over the world. It was awesome but I expected it bigger. I show you some of the favourite paintings I saw.


In another news, Damien (my boyfriend) opened his Etsy shop! He sells pictures printed up maximum to 25 copies! He already sold one!


Finally, I show you a self-portrait with leaves and sewing. It's a technique that I wanted to try for a long time. It's oil and acrylics on cotton canva. I am doing other variations with this same technique since I like it very much.

Pot-pourri

Hola!

este fin de semana pasó volando. Vi a algunas amigas que no veía en mucho tiempo. Y eso es bueno. Pasarse la tarde charlando de todo y de nada entre chicas. Últimamente estoy bastante sola, desde que trabajo desde casa, y agradezco tener momentos así de vez en cuando.

Esta semana fui a ver a Amma, una mujer hindú que recorre el mundo abrazando a la gente. Desgraciadamente no recibí su abrazo pero la experiencia fue muy interesante. Ella es verdaderamente extraordinaria. Sus seguidores son gente que como todos buscan amor y dar un sentido más espiritual a sus vidas. Pero no me convencieron.

Hoy me matricule para un curso de pintura "técnica de retrato" que empezará en Enero. Estoy impaciente.

Acabé un cuadro-ejercicio con espátula. Me encanta la textura que consigues trabajando el óleo así pero es difícil trabajar los detalles. Y te gastas una tonelada de pintura!

Este fin de semana escaneé fotos de mi infancia. Estoy digitalizando los álbumes de mi madre. Os enseño algunas fotos de cuando era chiquita. Me hicieron gracia. No he vuelto a fumar más, ni a tener conejos, ni a tocar música desde entonces. En la última foto estoy con mi abuelo que se fue en el 81 creo. Lo adoraba y él a mí.

Hoy preparé tarjetas para un premio que daremos en STM en diciembre. Estar atentos, os puede tocar. Más info en diciembre.

I won't translate every single word. It is just a random list of what i've been doing this past days and i will give you an overview.

i've been hanging on with friends on Saturday. Glad to spend a whole afternoon with them because it is not often and i'm usually quite alone during the week since i work at home.

i've been finishing a painting working with the "knife". Not sure you call it like that. Anyway, not with a brush. Love the texture but really hard to control. Good exercise though.

i will start a new painting class in January. On portrait techniques.

I've been scanning pictures from my childhood and you can see some. I've never smoked again, nor had rabbits or played an instrument since then... The last picture is my grandfather. I was in love with him and he was with me.

i've seen Amma. Interesting experience.

i've prepared cards for a prize we will give at STM on December. Stay tuned. You could be a winner! More info on the site in December.

Resumen de las novedades

Hoy tengo ganas de hablar...o al menos de escribir!

Al final sí que estuvimos en los Pirineos el fin de semana. Estuvo genial. La pasamos muy bien y descansamos! La casa rural donde estabamos es acogedora y se come muy bien. Hicimos una larga caminata (mucha nieve!) el domingo y un picnic en los bosques. No había nadie y hacía un sol precioso! Estar en contacto con la naturaleza sin estrés ni ruido es un lujo y lo hemos disfrutado...

Por otra parte, estoy muy contenta porque vendí mis primeras piezas en Etsy! Me compraron dos de mis cuadros pequeños! Sí! Pero como soy tan pesada, luego estaba preocupada por el envío y "a ver si le gusta cuando los recibe?"...en fin, soy así...Pero estoy muy muy contenta!

El nuevo desafío de Scrapping the music está en línea. Os enseño la página que hice para ello. Tenía otra idea en mente y me parecía que iba a quedar mucho mejor...pero bueno. Aqui está. Experimenté con otra técnica y es lo importante. Id a mirar las creaciones de los otros miembros de la DT para más inspiración.

Podría enseñaros otras cositas pero no quiero saturaros. Las guardo para más tarde.

Las semanas me pasan volando pero como siempre paso la vida corriendo y me da la impresión de no avanzar. Ya son unos 3 meses desde que dejé el labo pero me parece una eternidad. Es muy paradójico. Si lo pienso hice muchisimas cosas en 3 meses, pero por otra parte, cada noche pienso "otro día sin hacer nada!"...En resumen, no sé si lo llevo bien pero intento razonarme y pensar positivo.

Today I need to talk ... or at least to write!

We went to the Pyrenees this weekend. It was great. We had rest in the cosy cottage we stayed and the food was delicious. We made a long walk (there was snow!) on Sunday and a picnic in the woods. Nobody around and a beautiful sun. Perfect. No stress , no noise: a luxury that we really appreciated ...

On the other hand, I am very happy because I sold my first creations on Etsy! They bought me two of the small canvas! Yes! But then I was worried about the shipping and i was wondering if they would like it whan they'll receive it. I know, i know... But I'm very very happy!

The new challenge at Scrapping the music is online. I show you the page that I came up with. I had another idea in mind and I thought it gonna look much better... but anyway here it is. I experimented with another technique and that is the point. Go and check the creations of the other members of the DT for more inspiration.

I could show you more stuff but you don't want saturation! I'll keep it for later.

The weeks pass flying but, as usual, i run all day long and have the feeling i don't move forward. It's about 3 months since I left the lab but it seems an eternity. It's very weird. If I think about it I really made a lot in 3 months, but on the other hand, every night I think "another day without doing anything !"... In conclusion, I do not know if I am doing well but i try to be objective and to think positive.

Taller en Cromatismes

El sábado 29 de noviembre daré un taller en Cromatismes de 10:00 a 14:00. En 4 horas crearemos un álbum recopilando tus fotos del 2008 a partir de un libro de cartón. Trabajaremos con pintura acrílica, papel de seda, transparencias y fieltro. Es un taller muy divertido en el cual aprenderemos a confeccionar álbumes originales de una manera sencilla. Para regalar ...o conservar!

Otoño

Ya es viernes!!!! La semana pasó volando y llega el fin de semana. Tenéis planes?
A lo mejor nos vamos en una casa rural en los Pirineos. En un pueblecito que nos gusta mucho (el de la foto en la página). Muy bonito, muy tranquilo y desde donde se pueden hacer largas caminatas en los bosques/montaña. Sería relajante y refrescante. Necesitamos descansar del agobio de la ciudad de vez en cuando...
A ver qué os cuento el lunes.

Hoy os quería enseñar una página que hice esos días. Todo partió de la idea de hacer un fondo imitando a los nudos de la madera (ya que es tanto de moda y me gusta mucho). Pero lo hice con rotuladores y al final no me gustaba el color....Total que he ido añadiendo capas y capas y me gusta bastante el resultado. Sobre todo las hojas del libro + fieltro + foto. Voy a retener esa idea para otro proyecto que tengo en mente. Nunca se trabaja por nada. Siempre salen cosas positivas aunque el resultado no era lo esperado!

This week just past so fast and the weekend is almost here. Do you have any plans?
We are probably going to the Pyrenees in a small village (the one in the picture!) we like very much and from where you can make great treks and be in peace. It would be very relaxing and refreshing. We need to escape from Barcelona from time to time!
Today, I show you a page I made these days. The original idea was to make my own woodgrain background. But I drew the lines with the wrong pencil and i did not like the colors...so I ended adding layers and layers of paper/felt/gesso, etc. The final result is not that bad and I love the book pages/felt/photo part. I will keep in mind the idea for another project! Every time we work, something good always happens even if the result is different from what we had in mind. I should remeber this!

Hola a todos!

...muy muy rápidamente por falta de tiempo, de inspiración y sobre todo de energía positiva. ..Espero poder contaros más cosas esta semana y con más ánimo!
Por hoy, solamente quería enseñaros la página que hice para el reto de la semana en Scrapping the music. La canción se llama click, click, click y obviamente me hizo pensar en Damien. Aunque últimamente no ha tenido mucho tiempo para dedicar a la fotografía, es el fotógrafo oficial de nuestra casa. Sin él no sé si podría scrapear, ya que a mí no me gusta sacar fotos!
Teneís que participar esta semana porque nadie tiene excusas! Los que hacen scrap siempre tienen inspiración para una click click click página!

My page is about Damien without whom i won't be able to scrap a lot of pages since he is the official photographer at home. I really don't like the process of taking photos...
