Hi All!
I've been taking a class with Dina Wakley this saturday. It was so nice to be able to speak with her in person! I am a huge fan of her work and I couldn't beleive it when I saw her journals in person. They are amazing! She is so simple and easy-to-speak-with. I am glad for this opportunity. When I complete the layouts I've been making I'll show you. We had a blast playing with spray inks for 3 hours!
Sunday ATC is from a postcard I found at the movie theatre. It's a free ad on culture and art. It says "Did we forget culture?" and I added...and education!
I chose to use it because I don't spend a single day without thinking our society is sick. Nobody is interested in culture. Everybody's interest is purely material. We just want to consume. To wear D&G clothes, to have an ipod and a huge plasma screen at home. Our governments make it that way. They don't want people to think but consume. When I see people throwing papers on the ground, people listening to shitty music loudly in the metro, dog shits all around, cell phone given to babies as if it was a toy, industrial food, etc. I just can't beleive it. Nobody matters. The spiritual part of human being is forgotten. Nobody feeds it. We are sick. The planet is sick...but it's OK, it's so good to be driving a brand new car!
In a more positive note, I show you what I created for Scrapping the music. I've been inspired by Alisa Burke Graffiti's class (more details in the previous post). The lyrics are written all around the canva, urban art style. It looks like a piece of wall created by different persons. I'm not totally happy with the result but enjoyed so much the process. I have to make more stuff with the stencil technique. Hope you'll join us for the challenge!
That's all for today, enjoy your week!
